SERVICES

Transition Youth Services

Transition youth refers to young individuals, typically ages 14 to 24, who are preparing to move from adolescence to adulthood. This period focuses on helping them transition into employment, higher education, independent living, and community participation. For youth with disabilities, it includes developing essential skills like job readiness, self-advocacy, and accessing support services. Mentorship plays a key role in this process by providing guidance, encouragement, and support from experienced individuals, helping transition youth navigate challenges and achieve their goals for a successful, independent future.

Ticket to Work Program

Social Security Disability Support for Employment
Are you receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and thinking about going back to work? The Ticket to Work (TTW) program can help you take the next step toward financial independence — without immediately losing your benefits.
What is Ticket to Work?
Ticket to Work is a free and voluntary program from the Social Security Administration (SSA) that supports people with disabilities who want to work. SSA issues “tickets” to eligible individuals, which can be used with an Employment Network (EN) like Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) or community partners such as ACES.
Services and Supports May Include:
  • Continued cash benefits while you test your ability to work
  • Ongoing access to Medicaid or Medicare while employed
  • Guidance from Benefits Specialists to help you understand how work affects your benefits
  • Support with work-related expenses related to your disability
  • Job placement, career counseling, training, and accommodations

Mental Health Services

We take a holistic approach that integrates professional mental health care with peer-led support to empower individuals on their path to recovery, independence, and career success.
Our services include:
  • Individual Counseling: Professional support to help individuals manage conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress, which can interfere with focus, attendance, motivation, and workplace interactions.
  • Peer Specialist Support: Peer Specialists are trained professionals with lived experience of a disability, mental health condition, or life challenge. They use their personal journeys to offer mentorship, emotional support, and practical guidance, helping others overcome similar barriers.
  • Skill-Building & Advocacy: We assist individuals in developing essential soft skills like communication, self-advocacy, stress management, and problem-solving. Our team also helps clients navigate workplace accommodations and community resources.
  • Recovery & Resilience Coaching: Focused support to promote long-term emotional well-being and stability, helping individuals maintain employment and achieve their personal goals.
By integrating these services, ACES creates a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals feel heard, respected, and equipped to thrive. Mental health is not just about wellness—it’s a critical part of employment readiness and long-term success.
